Shihan Shivaji Ganguly is on of the significant pillar of Full Contact ( Kyokushin ) Karate in India since 1980 . He is the direct disciple of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama , the founder of Full Contact Kyokushin Karate. He was the only Indian to receive the 5thDan black belt from Sosai and was appointed by him as the Branch Chief of India . After Sosai passed away he had also served as the Chairman of Asia of WKO shinkyokushinkai for 16years and later also served as the chairman of India and as the International Committee member of World So Kyokushin Karate.
With time many international groups of Kyokushin Karate came into being but none has preserved the real essence of Sosai's teachings .
This was the main reason for which Shihan Shivaji Ganguly has formed the International Organization of " WORLD KARATE COUNCIL M KYOKUSHIN "
The main aim of this organisation is to preserve the essence of Sosai's teachings and nurturing the true Kyokushin values.
Kyokushin Karate is not just a style but a way of life which purifies Human mind . This will help the world at large to maintain Universal Brotherhood . The Whole World will become one family and will resonate with the sloka of Maha Upanishad
ayaṃ nijaḥ paro veti gaṇanā laghucetasām।
udāracaritānāṃ tu vasudhaiva kuṭumbakam॥
Hindi translation:
यह मेरा है, वह पराया है, ऐसे छोटें विचार के व्यक्ति करते हैं।
उच्च चरित्र वाले लोग समस्त संसार को ही परिवार मानते हैं॥
English translation:
This is mine, that is his, say the small minded,
The wise believe that the entire world is a family.
This in turn will help us to move from darkness to light , from ignorance to knowledge , from mortality to immortality , establishing peace inside and outside our minds .
Then our enlightened mind will recite the sloka from the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad
असतोमा सद्गमय ।
तमसोमा ज्योतिर् गमय ।
मृत्योर्मामृतं गमय ॥
ॐ शान्ति शान्ति शान्तिः ।।
asato mā sadgamaya
tamasomā jyotir gamaya
mrityormāamritam gamaya
Oṁ śhānti śhānti śhāntiḥ
From ignorance, lead me to truth;
From darkness, lead me to light;
From death, lead me to immortality
